Ryan Zimmer (He/Him) is a current Master’s student at the George Washington University studying International Affairs with a concentration in Global Energy and Environmental Policy. His professional introduction to environmentalism and youth engagement was at the College of Charleston in SC, where he worked at the Charleston Climate Coalition, a grassroots organization working to mitigate local climate issues with a community first and alliance building approach. He previously organized students in climate action on campus and worked in the past two years as an English assistant teacher in Murcia, Spain, where he found a passion for supporting young people in climate education. Growing up in CT, his father would frequently take him hiking the Metacomet Ridge Mountains, finding a love for nature and its conservation there. In his free time, Ryan enjoys playing soccer and basketball, hiking, trying new cuisine in DC, and traveling to national parks.
